Quality Animal Care

We believe that every pet deserves the best care possible, which means allowing the pet to recover in a low-stress environment. Our facility is located on 36 acres in the Rocky Mountains and provides a peaceful, natural environment that can help speed up and aid in the recovery process. At Off-Grid Veterinarian, we treat only one patient at a time, so we do not take on a new patient until the current one has completed treatment and is well on its way to recovery. This allows us to give each patient our full attention and ensure the highest quality of care. Clients are encouraged to be part of the whole treatment process, including scrubbing-in on the surgery if they would like to. Having the owner present makes all the difference in providing a low-stress, low-anxiety experience for the pet!

ABOUT US

Building our own off-grid veterinary treatment center has been a wild ride! We fell in love with the beauty and peace of the Rocky Mountains and are thrilled to be able to share it with our furry patients.

The Off-Grid Veterinarian, Kacey Carr, has been practicing veterinary medicine since graduating from the University of Tennessee in 2015. Surgery has always been his specialty, and he was able to gain experience working with both large corporations and small, private practices. In 2022, he felt the call to provide a different kind of veterinary care for companion animals; a care that focused on one pet a time in an environment that fully supported both client and pet. His never-ending passion for rescuing animals in need, which started at the ripe age of three, drove him to pursue, and continue in, veterinary medicine.  He absolutely loves living in the rugged Rocky Mountains and spends his free time hanging out with his wife and two daughters, building things, and investing in the community of Canon City. A noble lab-mix named Mighty that Dr. Kacey and his wife rescued 16 years ago is the very first OGV patient and we consider him an honorary OGV founder. A mother and daughter Great Pyrenees pair are the newest additions to the Carr family and are constantly entertaining everyone with their silly antics!
