A Unique Veterinary Experience
The Off-Grid Veterinarian offers premium, personalized pet care in a serene, natural setting where owners are welcome to stay and even participate in treatment. This unique approach significantly enhances the pet's experience, promoting faster recovery and reducing complications.
During the off-season, OGV also extends relief services to hospitals, ranging from single-day emergency support to pre-planned, multi-week assistance.
Beyond direct pet care, OGV also provides veterinary hospital consulting. Based on extensive observations, OGV has recognized that many veterinary hospitals would benefit from expert guidance to address issues stemming from miscommunication, inefficient procedures, and unintentional oversights. Experience has shown that even minor adjustments can significantly improve the overall hospital environment, positively impacting pets, staff, and clients alike.

Meet the OGV Dream Team
Two brothers, both licensed veterinarians with a passion to save animals, love people, and help hospitals, had dreamed of working together since they could talk. While growing up, they were immersed in the world of business by their father and medicine by their mother. Partner those experiences with their love for animals, and you have two animal doctors that know how to get the job done.

Dr. Kacey Carr, DVM
Dr. Kacey Carr has been rescuing animals in need since he was three years old. This passion for animals never left him as he spent the next 25 years of his life on a mission to become an animal doctor. Working with large corporations, private hospitals, police and wildlife K-9 units, and serving as a surgical instructor, Dr. Kacey gained valuable experience working with a large variety of pets and people.

In 2022, Dr. Kacey founded the Off-Grid Veterinarian. In 2023, he founded Forsaken To Cherished, a non-profit organization that partners youth with the rescue and rehabilitation of companion animals. Finally, in 2024, Dr. Kacey, along with his brother, founded Dr-V, an organization that turns rescued animals into superheroes while promoting the importance of the human-animal bond.

Dr. Kacey's deep love for the mountains extends to his personal life, where he enjoys adventures with his wife, two daughters, and their rescued animals. These include two rescued cats, a geriatric Chihuahua, and a bonded pair of Great Pyrenees who have assumed the role of guardians of the OGV Rocky Mountain location. The Carr family's first OGV patient, a noble mutt named Mighty, rescued in 2008, holds a special place as an honorary OGV founder.

Dr. Kody Carr, DVM
Dr. Kody Carr has always had a passion for animals, people, and business. His life changed after a veterinary mission trip to Africa, where he assisted local ranchers. The experience fueled his passion for quality animal care and inspired him to pursue his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine.
After receiving his DVM, Dr. Kody quickly earned a reputation as a trusted veterinarian at a private practice in Reno, NV. In less than one year, he was awarded “Best Veterinarian” by the Reno Gazette-Journal.
Over the last fifteen years, he has honed his skills in animal care, client relations, and veterinary business management. For the past three years, Dr. Kody has served as a consultant for OGV, supporting his brother with both business and medical matters.
Outside of veterinary practice, Dr. Kody enjoys spending time with his wife and two children. He is passionate about music and outdoor activities, including hiking, running, and mountain biking.
